Firnio is designed so spreadsheet contents stay in the browser. This page explains the limited data that may still be processed when you use the website or pay for an export.
1. Spreadsheet contents
CSV/XLSX files are read and cleaned in your browser. Their contents are not sent to Firnio servers for analysis or cleaning. Exports are generated locally in the browser.
2. PayPal payments
When a paid export is requested, Firnio sends its server the row count, selected language, a random purchase reference and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the source file. This fingerprint is used only to bind the payment to the exact file and does not contain spreadsheet contents. The server then creates a PayPal order. PayPal processes payment-related data under its own policies. Spreadsheet contents are not sent to PayPal.
3. Browser-local storage
Firnio uses browser local storage to remember language, pending purchase references and signed export authorizations. A SHA-256 fingerprint of the file is computed locally and sent to the Firnio server for a paid export so the authorization can be bound to the exact source file. Firnio stores transaction metadata in Cloudflare D1 (fingerprint, row count, amount, currency, PayPal identifiers, status and timestamps), but not the filename or spreadsheet contents.
4. Technical data and hosting
The site is served through Cloudflare Workers. As with any web service, Cloudflare may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as IP address, request metadata and technical logs, under its own privacy policy.
5. Cookies and analytics
Firnio V1 does not include advertising or third-party audience analytics. Local storage used for language and purchase unlocks supports the service requested by the user. If analytics, advertising or other non-essential trackers are added later, this policy and, where required, consent controls will be updated.
6. Contact and rights
For privacy questions or to exercise any applicable data-protection right, contact contact@firnio.app. Firnio V1 does not maintain a user-account database.
7. Third-party services
The main third-party providers are Cloudflare (hosting and network) and PayPal (payments). Their own policies may provide for processing or international transfers independently of Firnio.
